Fly to the blue pickup station and dock carefully to collect your package. Your ship outline turns gold when you are carrying cargo. Then fly to the green delivery station and dock again to complete the delivery and earn your score. Docking requires the correct approach speed, alignment, and proximity - watch the three docking bars on screen.
How does docking work in Cosmic Courier?
To dock successfully at any station or fuel depot, you must satisfy three conditions at the same time - you must be close enough, slow enough, and correctly aligned with the station. The on-screen docking panel shows three bars: Speed, Alignment, and Distance. All three must be in range simultaneously for the dock to trigger.
What happens if I run out of fuel in Cosmic Courier?
Running out of fuel ends your mission immediately. You must manage your fuel carefully throughout every run. Two fuel depots appear on each map - dock with them to refuel mid-mission. Completing a delivery also restores a large portion of your fuel tank, so faster deliveries keep you safer.
How does planetary gravity work in Cosmic Courier?
Every planet on the map exerts a real gravitational pull on your ship. The closer you fly to a planet, the stronger the pull drags you off course. A DANGEROUS GRAVITY warning appears on screen when you are at risk. If your ship makes contact with a planet's surface, the mission ends immediately. You must plan every route around the gravity wells between you and your destination.
Can I shoot the asteroids in Cosmic Courier?
You can shoot asteroids and they produce a visual splatter effect, but shooting does not destroy or move them. Asteroids are permanent obstacles. Any collision between your ship and an asteroid ends your mission instantly, so you must fly around them at all times - even while carrying cargo under time pressure.
How do aliens behave in Cosmic Courier?
Aliens patrol the map in a passive state when you are far away. As you get closer they switch to a chase state and follow your ship. At close range they rush in to attack. If an alien makes contact with your ship, your mission ends. Aliens take multiple hits to destroy and award bonus score when eliminated. Destroying one causes a replacement to spawn after a short delay, so the threat is constant.
How is scoring calculated in Cosmic Courier?
Each successful delivery earns 100 base points. A time bonus is added on top - the faster you flew from the pickup dock to the delivery dock, the larger the bonus. Destroying aliens earns additional points. Your total score carries forward across every delivery in a single run. If your mission ends for any reason, that is your final score.
What causes a mission to fail in Cosmic Courier?
Your mission ends immediately if your ship collides with an asteroid, crashes into a planet's surface, is captured by an alien, or runs out of fuel. After a mission failure, you see your final score and can retry from the beginning.
